Firstly allow me to introduce
myself as Wendy Fleat, I live in the Southampton area and have been
a professional seamstress in the soft furnishing sector for over 30
years. I now only sew for a few select customers as most of my time
is spent writing soft furnishing instructional manuals. My partner,
Alan, sits behind the scenes doing all those mundane things which
keep the cogs well oiled.
The Alternative Windows group of web sites has been helping soft
furnishing enthusiasts since 1998. Whilst it was initially intended
for those wishing to learn a new skill it became increasingly obvious
that a large number of visitors were in fact seeking professional
help to make their curtains, widow drapes and other soft furnishings.
Whilst our other sites concentrate on tuition this site is intended
to help smaller businesses as well as single person enterprises to
make contact with a percentage of our visitors.
Our group of web sites receives an average of 6,000 visitors each
day with over 50% coming from the United Kingdom. This has increased
since January 2003 due to the popularity of our Soft Furnishing Forum.
